JOB HISTORY :

Armen Suny has a unique background in the golf industry. His career has been spent at the greatest club’s in the Country. Suny entered the golf industry at 14 years of age at a par 3 course and driving range. Throughout High School he worked at White Manor Country Club in Philadelphia. After High School, Suny worked at Aronimink Golf Club, during the "1977 US Amateur" (Golf Digest #52), until finishing up Turfgrass Management at the famed Penn State program where Suny finished 2nd in his class.

Upon graduation, Suny went to work as Assistant Superintendent at the venerable Merion Golf Club and hosted the "1981 US Open" (Golf Digest #7). Suny left Merion for the head Superintendent position at the William Flynn masterpiece Rolling Green Golf Club. He was then, in 1984, recruited to Cherry Hills Country Club (Golf Digest #21) to prepare for the "1985 PGA Championship".

Suny left Cherry Hills after the Championship for Castle Pines Golf Club (Golf Digest #68) to prepare the course for the PGA tournament the "International" in 1986. Along with his duties as Superintendent, Suny as Vice President of Agronomy oversaw the construction and grow-in of the Country Club at Castle Pines, landscape maintenance of streetscapes, town home associations, and private residences. During Suny’s tenure at Castle Pines he rose to the position of Tournament Director for the "International". In 1992 left Castle Pines and provided Agronomic and Executive Search services to developers, designers, the golf industry, and researched golf course residential community opportunities for a developer and golf industry acquisitions for a merchant banker.

In 1995 Suny had the opportunity to go to work for the "visionary" Steve Wynn as General Manager of Shadow Creek (Golf Digest #48). Suny operated a facility with 100 employees and an operating budget of over $10,000,000. Suny stayed on at Shadow Creek until the corporation was taken over in 2000.

Suny returned to the Denver to become the on site project manager for Headwaters, a 2,400 acre development golf course residential project. Suny was involved in all facets of entitlement and planning of a major golf course residential development.

Presently Suny is working in British Columbia, Canada as co-designer of the Sagebrush Golf Club.
