MEDIA SPECIALIZES IN WEB ANIMATION, FLASH DESIGN AND FLASH ANIMATION.
Before Apple get into a war with Adobe flash was the dominant technology for animation and video. Please excuse the commentary... As a CD plays, the two channels of audio data (not including overhead) are pulled off the disc at a rate of just over 1400 kilobits per second. A typical MP3 plays at less than a tenth that rate, at 128kbps. In a major effort to reduce file size, we went from 44,100 samples per second to 36,000 samples per second. The MP3 codec, and others that achieve similar reductions in file size, are "lossy"; ie, of necessity they eliminate some of the musical information. The degree of this degradation depends on the data rate. Less bits always equals less music. But bottom line...the difference in audio quality between CD's and Mp3's is minimal - but it's noticeable to those who have decent hearing. The degradation is indeed subtle, and much more noticeable if you listen on quality speakers - not those cheap earbuds. Ditto on Apple's virtual "killing" of Adobe's flash. While everyone promotes the animation capabilities of HTML5 - it can't do 1/2 of what flash could do in terms of animation. Thanks to Apple we have lesser quality online for animation, video and audio. Perhaps it's just sour grapes because I considered buying stock in Apple when it was only $14 a share...and didn't. Yes, you can have Animation for websites and iphones too...
